Climate of Crete

The Mediterranean climate of Crete is probably one of the mildest someone can find in Europe. As far as climatology is concerned, the year can be divided mostly into two seasons. The hot and mostly dry summers with the occasional showers and the famous mild winters with snow on the mountains and rain in the plains but still a good deal of sunshine. The combination of rain and relative warmth make it one of the greenest places in the Mediterranean basin.
