Travelling to and in Crete
There are a number of ways to travel to Crete. The easiest and without any doubt fastest is to fly here. Just make sure you book your tickets as soon as possible so as to get cheap flights.
If your are coming to Crete via Athens or Thessaloniki and feel adventurous, there are daily services to and from the island's harbors. Greeks love traveling with ferries because it is more relaxing, safe, cheaper than a plane ticket and even more romantic.
As far as public transportations, the island has a developing network of bus services that covers routes to all 4 prefectures of the island. Still, if you wish to use a car or a bike, you can always rent or hire a taxi.
